Exodus 1:1-22 Commentary

The book of Exodus is central to all of redemptive history. This book, written by Moses to the nation of Israel, recounts Israel’s miraculous salvation from slavery, to their grumblings and wandering throughout the wilderness.

God’s wrath and grace are on full display all throughout this historical book as He punishes the wicked, yet shows grace and mercy to the undeserving.

This book is essential to understanding who God is, how powerful God is, how endlessly loving God, and yet how wrathful and just God is. This book is also necessary to understanding all of biblical history.

Romans 9:1-13 Commentary

The book of Romans is a masterpiece of the Apostle Paul featuring 16 chapters, 11 heavy on doctrine and 5 heavy on practical application. Anyone who truly wants to know the Gospel in every sense he can would be foolish to not read this letter of Paul.

This book is essential to knowing deeper the Gospel of Jesus Christ and understanding how it should affect our everyday lives.

1 Corinthians Background Commentary

Paul’s first letter, that we have, to the church of Corinth is namely to address major doctrinal and moral issues that were killing and dividing their church. The focus of this book is humility and unity, both of which the Corinthians were severely lacking.

This book is essential in understanding the root of Gospel unity, being humility, and in seeing the effects festering pride can have on the church.
